Coal India Surpasses Production Targets: A Boost to Domestic Output and Impact on Imports
The latest official assessment of Indian coal production showed a 10.3% year-on-year increase to 99.7mt in January. Very strong domestic output is expected to keep a lid on thermal coal imports and keep stockpiles high.
